What is the AGV application and how it works?

Use of AGV application is increasing efficiency and has the ability to reduce the expenses because these are helping in automating the warehouses and manufacturing facilities. AGVs are driverless forklifts and have the ability to carry the load or to get the objects behind them in trailers with ease. These trailers may be being used to transport finished products or raw materials from one place to another. 

You can store objects on a bed on some AGVs while on the other hand, some AGVs can also work as automated guided forklift and will life objects for storage purposes too. AGVs can be used to get the services from them in every type of industry whether that is metal, paper, newspaper or general manufacturing industry to move the objects around with ease. 

What is AGV?

An AGV stands for Automated Guided Vehicle and also known as LGV which stands for Laser Guided Vehicle or SGV which stands for Self-Guided Vehicles. AGVs may come in various models but the main purpose of all of them is to transport objects from one place to another. The very first AGV came in the market in 1950 and at the time it was a really simple machine but with the time advancements has brought in these systems and modernized them to use at the higher level. At the present time, the AGVs are able to communicate with other robot systems and this can ensure the fact that transportation has taken place in a smooth manner. At the present time, the AGVs are playing a major role in the design and transport processes of new warehouses and factories. 

How AGV applications can work?

AGV applications are containing different navigation systems and sensors which can help the AGV applications performs their work in a proper way and make the transportation process easy and smooth. 

AGV applications contain navigation controls which can help in providing the real time feedback about the position for the purpose of position navigation of the vehicle. These vehicles contain some sensors which can help in determining that the position of the load is correct and the vehicle is going right. As the AGVs are able to communicate with other systems and this can be done with interface handshake sensors which can provide a better communication link to ensure the safe and secure movement with ease. Obstacle detection sensors are also being used which has the ability to bring the vehicle at a safe stop and can prevent the contact of the vehicle with any obstacle which may come in path accidently.

AGVs can also come with the custom designs which can be used to transport unique loads. The sizes, capacity, and shapes of such AGVs can be changed according to the needs or requirements. These custom designs are commonly being used to support the manufacturing processes where the movement of raw materials and final goods can take place. AGVs has made the process of good movement easier and cost-effective.
